The project aims to achieve the two objectives:
- To examine the current distribution, abundance, and population dynamics of the species of Guaiacum spp. and obtain updated information that allows the Scientific Authority to make a non-detriment finding and establish actions for its conservation.
- Strengthen the role and effective cooperation of the Scientific Authorities and the control authorities of the timber trade and its products to prevent, deter and combat forest crime, through the design of comprehensive control actions, an information and collection system of data and the sensitization of the producers, artisans, merchants and consumers about the affectations derived from the illicit trade, to the conservation of the selected species.
